Welcome to authentic, North Indian cuisine with a Nepalese twist in the heart of Manchester
Family run since ’66, located in Albert Square
Take a leap of faith!
If you’ve ever walked past Rajdoot, you might not have realised what lies beneath. From the street, there’s little to see — and that’s entirely intentional. Step down the staircase that generations of guests have taken, and you’ll find yourself transported straight to North India.
Inside, our space seats up to 70 guests in a carefully designed, atmospheric setting. We’ve deliberately avoided natural light to create a true sense of escape — every detail, from the lighting to the décor, has been chosen to take you on a rich culinary journey.
We may not look like one of Manchester’s trendy glass-fronted restaurants, but what we offer is something more lasting: warmth, heritage, and a truly immersive North Indian dining experience.

Our most popular dish: MACHAN CHICKEN

There are two kinds of people in the world, those who love Mackhan chicken and those who have never tasted it…
The beauty of Mackhan Chicken lies in the subtle tanginess and velvety texture. Our regular customers who have been coming since the 70’s swears by this dish and for the most, is the only go to curry when then join us again and again. Our secret recipe of tomato, butter, cream and cinnamon immersed with tandoori chicken breast makes it a perfect unique curry.
We’ve done it again!
Another proud achievement for Rajdoot Tandoori! High standards of hygiene and cleanliness is at the forefront of our business and we want our customers to be proud of that too. The FSA has given us the top score of 5 in food hygiene rating.
